        The Brief
Hotel Chocolat came to us with enthusiasm and an open mind about how to promote its Velvetised Chocolate Cream - a dream client in many ways!
Here’s what the team knew they wanted:
- To generate awareness around the brand’s Velvetised Chocolate Cream in restaurants
- To develop Easter-specific cocktail offerings
- To drive uptake through multiple digital marketing channels
- To move the dial on cocktail-to-wet-sales percentages
- To create lasting impact beyond the seasonal campaign
Aside from that, the team trusted our experience, opinions and insights to turn their ideas into an eggscellent campaign that delivered real results.
The Strategy
As the famous saying goes, “there is no ‘i’ in ‘team’”. This was a truly collaborative project involving Hotel Chocolat, Bite Digital, multiple restaurants and mixologists to get the concept and offering just right.
The campaign involved:
Ideation and curation: the food and beverage market is very competitive. We had to create something unique, which is why we sought the help of professional mixologists to create a collection of bespoke cocktails that would actually sell and represent the Hotel Chocolat brand properly.
Creative brand assets: no stock photos or recycled content here. With a dedicated photoshoot at a flagship store, we ensured everything was tailored specifically for this campaign and brand aesthetic.
An irresistible offer: we developed an integrated offer that worked across multiple digital marketing touchpoints: organic social media, social media advertising, and email marketing. The goal was to generate awareness of the drinks and ultimately drive an uptake of the offer, shifting the percentage of cocktails sold compared to overall wet sales.
Performance optimisation: location targeting was key to hitting that record-breaking £0.31 CPC. We didn't spray and pray - we targeted the right people in the right places where Hotel Chocolat’s cocktails could be purchased.
